A Look Back on August 2010

As you may have noticed I have been quite absent this summer.  I guess my blog enthusiasm has diminished a little bit.  But rest assured, I am still around and will continue to blog but perhaps in a more sporadic fashion is all.  Here are some garden pics from August.

August 2010 (2) My Phlox grew taller than me this year and practically taller than my tree.  As always, the Red Twig Dogwood in the corner needs a good hacking at.

August 2010 (10) The insane clematis on my fence.  I believe there are three different varieties growing right there.  Jasmine is to the left and honeysuckle to the right.

Just for fun

August 2010 (44)

Front of house.  Lace Cap Hydrangea grew quite huge this year and my “little” maple needs a pruning.

August 2010 (26)

My summer door wreath.  I added some sparkly butterflies to this olive wreath that I have had quite a few years.

Wow, how beautiful! For some reason I hadn't thought to put clematis on my fence. I think I worried it needed something more to climb up, like a trellis or garden wire. Did yours just go right up the fence on its own?

Love your wreath too! It reminds me of bay leaves, which might be a fun way to hang them and dry them out :)

Thanks! All the vines in my yard are growing on wires which are strung between eye hooks on my fence posts (horizontally). Wire and eye hooks are from Lowe's.
